Talented young performers of Ceduna take to the main stage
Danceduna is Ceduna’s local children’s dance group managed by a committee of enthusiastic parents & dance instructors for the past 11 years. Weekly classes held during the school year for ages 3 and over incorporating all forms of dance styles results in an annual performance that only gets bigger and better every year, so this year you are sure to be in for a fabulous performance on the main stage from our talented youngsters.
Former MasterChef and author, Pia Gava will be appearing in the Cuisine Corner marquee on Saturday and Sunday.
Food was an important part of my Italian upbringing and there was a family dish suited to every occasion. My favourite memory as a little girl was sitting on the kitchen step watching my mum make pasta and stealing some off the table before they were even cooked! Watching how easy and effortlessly she would combine all ingredients then roll out and produce her pasta creations, knowing she would have watched and learnt from her own mother also.
There are times I like to experiment and not just stay in my comfort zone of Italian cuisine.
One of Australia's youngest ever Masterchefs, Callan Smith, will also be appearing in the Cuisine Corner marquee on Saturday and Sunday.
Cooking since he was five, Callan’s first kitchen experience was not a raging success; he has since developed his skills and rarely receives complaints. Completing his HSC exams on the eve of the MasterChef Australia judges’ auditions, Callan says he wanted a place in the Top 24 more than anything else.
Inspired by fresh, modern Asian food, Callan lists Kylie Kwong and Neil Perry as those he admires in the kitchen. He also loves to watch and follow Martin Boetz and Dan Hong, with his all-time favourite food hero being Heston Blumenthal.
Internationally respected singer songwriter Jodi Martin will be on the main stage.
Internationally respected singer songwriter Jodi Martin (ABC TV BACKROADS) returns to her hometown for the Oysterfest’s 30thAnniversary with a world-class band featuring some of Australia’s best musicians. Jodi has released 7 records worldwide, played Australia’s major festivals and toured extensively throughout Australia and to Germany, France, the UK and Canada. Jodi kicked off her music career at the age of 16, when she wrote a song for Kasey Chambers and the Dead Ringer Band’s ARIA Award-Winning country album Homefires. The Weekend Australian has hailed Jodi ‘one of Australia’s most talented singer songwriters’, and her heartwarming and often humorous live show is an unforgettable country-folk experience. You will be grateful for the tears in your eyes and the goosebumps on your skin.

Western Australian rock band ‘the Desert Stars’ join us after a very busy 2018 and 2019 which saw them undertaking their first touring season, the ‘Gravel Road’ Tour from Tjuntjuntjara to Broome and back. The tour concluded with a memorable concert in the Boulder Town Hall. Following on in 2019 the band took the opportunity to record a number of new songs including a music video in and around Menzies and Lake Ballard.
All the way from Tjuntjunjarra community out near the South Australian border, these guys are ‘the Desert Rock’ band, and boy do they rock! We are very excited to have them joining us here in Ceduna for Oysterfest 2020 to celebrate our 30th anniversary event.
